I’m a bilingual Counselor, fluent in English and Spanish, licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, a member of the Texas Behavioral Executive Council. I’ve worked in the human services field for over 20-years serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. During counseling sessions, I promote an environment that is accepting, supportive, genuine and understanding; however, I also encouraging my clients to be equal partners in the professional helping process. Central to my work are the high regard I place on treating clients with dignity and respect, my core belief in people’s ability to overcome life's most pressing problems, and the capacity to achieve transformational change. My training as a counselor started in the rural Northwest where I provided home-based services to families with limited access to resources, many living in remote areas affected by harsh winter weather conditions. In 2006, I moved to Texas where I’ve been a credentialed Licensed Professional Counselor for the last 16 years. My experiences have taught me to appreciate the many barriers people wanting help face. Today I'm pleased to serve clients in-person at my office in North Houston and through my telehealth practice (online counseling).
